  • AUD/USD

Update: AUD/USD enters the week with a fragile technical structure following weaker-than-expected Australian employment data and renewed uncertainty surrounding global risk sentiment. Although the U.S. dollar retreated from its recent highs as expectations for an October Federal Reserve rate increase faded, the Australian dollar has struggled to establish sustained recovery momentum. China's upcoming economic data, including third-quarter GDP figures, could provide an important catalyst for the currency, given Australia's exposure to Chinese demand. The 0.6850 region remains an important near-term support area. Holding above this level could allow another recovery toward 0.6950 and 0.7000. A sustained break below 0.6850 would reinforce the broader corrective structure and expose the 0.6780 region.

Resistance levels: Support levels: Recommended:
▪ 0.6950 / 0.7000 ▪ 0.6850 / 0.6780 Fragile recovery amid Australian growth concerns
  • EUR/USD

Update: EUR/USD enters the week attempting to extend its recovery after the U.S. dollar recorded its first weekly decline against the euro in more than a month. Despite stronger-than-expected U.S. inflation figures, less hawkish Federal Reserve commentary reduced expectations for an immediate rate increase, allowing the euro to recover from oversold conditions. However, ongoing French fiscal uncertainty and concerns surrounding European economic growth continue to limit the strength of the rebound. The upcoming euro-area and U.S. preliminary PMI releases could determine whether the recovery develops into a more sustainable reversal. The 1.1250 region represents the first important resistance level, followed by 1.1350. On the downside, holding above 1.1150 would preserve the current recovery structure, while a sustained break below this level could expose 1.1050.

Resistance levels: Support levels: Recommended:
▪ 1.1250 / 1.1350 ▪ 1.1150 / 1.1050 Corrective recovery within broader bearish structure
  • GBP/JPY

Update: GBP/JPY enters the week with an improving recovery outlook as sterling benefits from expectations of further Bank of England monetary tightening. Stronger-than-expected UK economic activity has supported the pound, while the Japanese yen remains sensitive to uncertainty surrounding the Bank of Japan's next policy move. However, recent yen strength and the possibility of further Japanese monetary tightening could limit the cross's upside potential. This week's UK inflation and employment figures, together with Japanese CPI data, may create significant volatility. The 210.00 region remains an important technical pivot. A sustained break above 212.00 could extend the recovery toward 214.00, while a decline below 208.00 would weaken the short-term structure and expose the 206.00 region.
